The Langdale Estate

The Langdale Estate is located in the heart of the Lake District National Park and includes 4-Star hotel accommodation, self-catering lodges, Brimstone Spa, Stove Restaurant and Bar, Wainwrights Inn and extensive leisure facilities. The estate is midway between the villages of Elterwater and Chapel Stile.

Our 50 beautiful guest rooms have super-king beds, and tubs as well as showers in contemporary en suite bathrooms. Breakfast is self-service with dishes such as smoked salmon and scrambled eggs cooked-to-order using the best of local produce. There are also 5-Star rated self-catering lodges on site, sleeping up to 8 people.

The bar and restaurant, Stove, is also a lounge with a mezzanine level and terrace overlooking a waterwheel. There is an all-day menu of classic dishes, from starters of scallops or baked Camembert to main courses such as steak, braised lamb shank or mussels. Fish and meats are smoked in our own smokehouse.

The leisure complex includes a 20-metre heated indoor pool, state-of-the-art gym, sauna and steam room as well as a spa. Advice on the best walking and cycling routes, plus a drying room and bike storage, are available on site.

Located a five minute walk from the Langdale Estate in the village of Chapel Stile, Wainwrights Inn is a favourite for locals and walkers alike. A selection of local and other ales compliment a traditional and hearty dining menu.
