Cruck Barn is a well-appointed Lake District holiday cottage nestled in a secluded and peaceful location, less than 2 miles from the village of Patterdale, near Ullswater. Sleeping 2 guests, a well-behaved dog is also welcome to stay. Perfect for walking holidays, Cruck Barn lies adjacent to one of the main footpaths to Helvellyn and Fairfield. Originally a small cattle barn, this charming holiday home is attached to its neighbouring property, Elm How, which sleeps 8 guests and is also dog-friendly. The cottages can be let individually or together.

Single storey, the property comprises an open plan living area with rustic wooden beams, a leather sofa, TV, DVD and CD player. The well-equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, washer / dryer and dining table. The double bedroom is spacious, with a comfortable bed and beautiful valley views. Cots and highchairs are available. The modern bathroom has a feature stone wall, heated towel rail and shower over bath. Linen and towels are provided. A water source heat pump provides the heating and hot water. Cruck Barn has parking for 2 cars.

Patterdale and Glenridding offer cafés, tearooms, pubs and hotel restaurants. Patterdale is a key stopping point on Wainwright’s famous Coast to Coast walk. The second-largest lake in the Lake District, Ullswater is perfect for lakeside walks, kayaking, paddleboarding or taking a scenic cruise with Ullswater Steamers. Other attractions in the area include Aira Force, Derwent Pencil Museum, Rheged Centre, Dalemain House, Lowther Castle and Theatre by the Lake. As well as fell walking, there is also ghyll scrambling, climbing and mountain biking locally.
