A quirky but luxurious guest house, The Old Lockup was originally built in 1842 as a magistrate’s house. It then became the local police station. The building has been sensitively refurbished to combine its beautiful original features with contemporary amenities.

The house has 4 spacious en suite guest bedrooms. An extensive breakfast menu includes a Full English, omelettes, boiled eggs with bread and butter, scrambled egg with smoked salmon on a toasted bagel and smoked haddock with a poached egg. Special diets are catered for and evening meals are available.

The Old Lockup has a free private car park for guests, complimentary Wifi access and a cosy guest lounge with roaring open fire. There are bookshelves in most of the rooms with a selection of good reads. The Lockup is also fully licensed.

Situated in the Derbyshire Dales market town of Wirksworth and on the edge of the Peak District National Park, The Old Lock Up is in an ideal location for exploring the Derbyshire countryside, walking or cycling the High Peak Trail or enjoying the many watersports on offer at nearby Carsington Water.
