Riverside Bed and Breakfast offers a wonderful place to stay in a 17th century house on the outskirts of Ambleside. Nestled at the end of a quiet lane, adjacent to the River Rothay, it offers a peaceful setting whilst only being a 10-minute walk to the town centre. With a 4-Star Gold rating and a Breakfast Award from both the AA and Visit England, owners Richard and Diney will ensure you receive the best service and hospitality.

All our rooms are immaculately presented, elegantly furnished and have en suite facilities, complimentary toiletries, a Smart TV, Bluetooth speaker and well-stocked beverage tray with half a bottle of wine to help you settle in. There are twin rooms, double rooms, a 4-poster room and our Superior Room with a bath and separate shower.

Guests can enjoy a freshly cooked Full Riverside breakfast, smoked salmon or vegetarian breakfast, all made with fine local ingredients, including our homemade bread. We also offer lighter bites and gluten free options. There is on-site car parking and we are more than happy to offer suggestions about local walks and places to visit.
