The Old Courthouse

The Old Court House is one of the oldest buildings in Bowness; dating back to 1843. Formerly the local police station, jail and courthouse, it is now a beautiful bed and breakfast offering 4-Star rated accommodation in the Lake District.

We have 5 well-appointed bedrooms all with en suite shower rooms plus Smart TV, hairdryer, free Wifi, and hospitality tray. We have double and twin rooms and a guest room on the ground floor for people with mobility difficulties. For breakfast, a delicious Full English breakfast and other variety of choices are available. We can accommodate vegetarians or other special diets.

We are close to the many delightful walks around the local area and Lake Windermere provides many activities to try. We also offer free passes to Choices Health Club where you can have access to their swimming pool, gym, sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room or book a massage or fitness class.
