Scale Hill

Scale Hill offers traditional Lakeland cottages in the stunning Lorton Valley. This is a former coaching inn renovated into 6 delightful holiday homes within beautiful grounds and gardens, with access to a hot tub. Scale Hill is only 8 miles from the historic towns of Cockermouth and Keswick.

Our cottages vary from 1 to 3 bedrooms with some allowing pets. All have their original features still intact such as stone walls and exposed timbers, with plenty of modern facilities, from the fitted kitchens to luxurious bathrooms, wood burning stoves and TVs. We also have a hot tub which is available to all guests.

The fells are a favourite with walkers and climbers and the lakes offer many activities. We are only a short drive to the sandy beaches at St Bees or Whitehaven. Birthplace of the Wordsworths, Cockermouth has many independent shops, restaurants, pubs and galleries.
