Nairn is a town in the Scottish Highlands with a great location on the Moray Firth. It is one of the driest and sunniest places in Scotland! Nairn is an ancient fishing port and market town some 16 miles east of Inverness. The town is a popular holiday destination with pleasure boats in the harbour, sandy beaches, riverside walks, promenade and plenty of good restaurants and shopping. The town also has a lively community centre and arts venue, small theatre and museum providing information on the local area. Nairn is known as a world class golfing destination, with two excellent 18-hole Championship golf courses. One of these, Nairn Golf Club is one of the greatest traditional links courses and is visited by golfers from all over the world. The second is Nairn Dunbar Golf Club. During the summer months, Nairn hosts an extensive programme of events including Nairn International Jazz Festival each August, attracting well-known and world class musicians. Nairn is also the host for the annual Nairn Books and Art Festival and agricultural show. Nairn stages one of the biggest Highland games in the North.
