Ramsgate is a popular seaside town in east Kent. A historic town, the town boasts many listed buildings and also has one of the largest marinas on the English south coast. Ramsgate Main Sands beach has a Blue Flag Award and is one of the best beaches in east Kent, stretching all the way to Broadstairs Viking Bay, which provides a wonderful two-mile walk via the Sea it All trail. Cycle the 32-mile Viking Coastal Trail, see a film at the Granville Theatre on East Cliff, have a pint of local ale in one of the old-time pubs and watch the boats on the marina from a waterfront café. Ramsgate has some great places to eat, including wonderful fresh seafood places. The town has wartime deep shelter tunnels, open to the public for tours. In the summer, there is a regatta event and Ramsgate carnival is an annual parade. Other events include the annual Addington Street Fair and the French Market.
