Gosford Pines is a beautiful and welcoming traditional English B & B located just over a mile north of the town of Ottery St Mary in East Devon. The house is a charming 18th century Grade II-listed farmhouse with the benefit of 5 acres of grounds, but close to good transport links. We welcome families and children. There are 3 en-suite rooms at Gosford Pines; a twin, double and family room. Each come resourced with a TV and tea and coffee-making facilities. Our dining room is the setting for a freshly-cooked English breakfast every morning. We are happy to cater for special dietary requirements wherever possible. At the end of the day, relax in the lounge with our open fireplace.
Ottery is home to the striking St Mary parish church, which is a popular tourist attraction. Take a walk down the serene River Otter and look at the Tumbling Weir with it swirling water effect. In June, there is Pixie Day which involves many of the local children, and in November, The Ottery St Mary Tar Barrels is a famous event where men shouldering flaming tar barrels run through the town. Ottery St. Mary is known for being the birthplace of the English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
