The Ness is located in Shaldon overlooking the River Teign estuary, close to the beach and the seaside town of Teignmouth. This is a stunning house dating from 1810 which formerly served as the summer residence for a lord, with stunning features such as fire places and oak floors. With 9 en-suite rooms, ranging from twin, double and family rooms; including luxury rooms with sea views. All rooms are light and spacious and include TV, digital radio, Wifi, tea and coffee-making facilities, luxuriously soft mattresses and fluffy crisp bedlinen. We have an extensive and delicious breakfast menu which includes a cold buffet, kedgeree, house breakfast (Full English), Veggie Deluxe, eggs and soldiers, simple egg on toast, or a bacon or sausage sandwich. We also have excellent lunch and dinner menus. The Ness is proud to have achieved a 5-star food hygiene rating.
Close to The Ness is Smugglers Tunnel which leads to Ness Beach. There is a ferry which runs between Teignmouth and Shaldon and fishing at the mouth of the estuary is popular all year round. Teignmouth has much to offer every person, young and old, and for every interest! The town beach has the pier, arcades and promenade and the pretty river beach is full of fishing boats and is perfect for coastal walks. The town centre is filled with beautiful Georgian buildings, and there are plenty of shops to explore.
