Almwch is a small port town on the north-east corner of the Isle of Anglesey. Amlwch is 15 miles from Holyhead, where ferries cross to Ireland, and the same distance from Llangefni. It is the most northerly town in North Wales and was formerly a busy port for ships travelling to Liverpool and the Isle of Man. This proud town has a long history of working tradition, and offers visitors a wide range of activities and amenities. Amlwch has a range of local bars and shops and hosts a local market every Friday. Fishing and golf are popular pastimes across Anglesey and visitors to Amlwch do not have to travel far to play golf at the Bull Bay Golf Club or fish at various locations.

Amlwch is on the Wales Coastal Path and has impressive cliffs and magnificent scenery. A favourite walk is along the coast from Point Lynas to Amlwch Port where copper was exported all over the world. Visitors can also explore the industrial workings of Parys Mountain at The Copper Kingdom Centre or visit the local railway museum. The old sail loft at Amlwch port has been developed as a heritage centre. Anglesey has a number of both historic and prehistoric sites close by, including burial chambers at Barcloddiad Yr Gawres and a church in the sea at Porth Cwyfan.
