Crantock is an idyllic coastal village in Cornwall approximately two miles (3 km) south-west of Newquay. The village has a peaceful atmosphere with picturesque cottages and large areas of National Trust land to be explored! It lies to the south of the River Gannel, which is tidal, and ferries operate on a seasonal basis from Fern Pit to Crantock Beach. This wide stretch of golden sand is backed by dunes, offering perfect picnic hollows at high tide. The beach is absolutely perfect for families, where you can take part in water sports, flying kites, exploring or just soaking up the sun. Crantock village has two good pubs and benefits from an excellent local shop and post office. Right in the centre of the village are tea rooms, known for their friendly service and freshly prepared food.
