Cullompton is a town in Mid Devon, locally known as ‘Cully’. It is 13 miles north-east of Exeter and lies on the River Culm. Cullompton provides a gateway to the outstanding scenery of the Culm Valley, much of which falls within the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This town is famous for its working textile and paper mills and is an ancient market town with an old marketplace and some half-timbered buildings. The wide open area where the market is held is known as the Bull Ring. It's a lively, bustling place with many amenities including a beautiful parish church, specialist shops, places to eat and good pubs. Cullompton is set in the heart of some of the finest scenery in the West Country. There are some lovely inland areas to explore and it is within easy reach of many coastal resorts. Cullompton is conveniently next to the M5 motorway making transport to and from Bristol, Taunton, Weston-super-Mare, Exeter and the south coast very easy.
