Seaton is a large seaside town and fishing harbour in East Devon. The town is found at the start of the Axmouth to Lyme Regis Undercliffs walk, which is a wild section of the Jurassic Coast rich in wildlife and plant life. The pedestrianised town centre has many examples of Victorian and Edwardian architecture and a range of shops, eateries and entertainment. The town’s mile-long beach is mostly shingle and is popular for watersports including swimming, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Ride on Seaton Tramway, go bird watching or explore Seaton Wetlands. There are local parks and gardens, a town museum and you can see a show at the Gateway Theatre. Award-winning Seaton Jurassic helps unravel the story of the Jurassic Coast. Seaton is the only town on the Jurassic Coast where rocks from all three of geological periods; Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous, can be viewed in their natural environment. Nearby Beer Quarry Caves are vast underground caverns with a fascinating history.
