Hotels, B&B's and Self Catering in Christchurch

Christchurch is the fourth largest town in Dorset. It is located on the south coast, and the town centre lies between the rivers Avon and Stour which flow into Christchurch Harbour, which is sheltered by Mudeford Spit sandbar. Historically, the town was an important trading port, and smuggling became a mainstay during the 18th and 19th centuries! The town is a popular destination for visitors, with its historical significance, harbour and quay, coastal nature reserves and wonderful beaches. Bournemouth airport is conveniently located to the west, and the spectacular New Forest is found a few miles north-east. The town centre is filled with a range of independent shops, high street stores and markets with plenty of great cafes, bars and restaurants. Christchurch has a busy year-round calendar and is renowned for its Food and Wine Festival held in May every year. Priory Church and the 11th century Christchurch Castle ruins add to the historic charm and The Red House Museum and Gardens has collections telling the story of the town. There is lots to do; why not hire a bike, go riding, play a round of golf, try your hand at some kayaking or surfing or visit Snowtrax the Alpine Adventure Centre for some fun!
