Hotels, Guest accommodation, Self Catering & Camping in Pembroke
Pembroke is a town dating back over 900 years, with a rich history. It is famous for its castle, which is one of the most complete Norman castles in the UK. Idyllically set on the banks of the river estuary, this mighty fortress is largely intact and has endless passages, tunnels and stairways which are great fun to explore. There are also excellent exhibitions telling the tale of medieval life. Pembroke was the birthplace of Henry VII, founder of the Tudors. The town walls around Pembroke are also remarkably intact and well worth a visit! The town and castle stand on a limestone ridge, along which runs the busy Main Street. When you walk down this road, you will see many examples of Georgian and Tudor houses. There is a good choice of restaurants, cafes and pubs among the local shops. When you have explored some of the fascinating history, you can relax on the superb south Pembrokeshire beaches or take a trip along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Wildlife lovers will love the picturesque Haven Waterway on the edge of the National Park.
