Hotels, B&B's and Self Catering in Settle

Settle is a bustling market town in the foothills of the Pennines at the gateway to Upper Ribblesdale and in sight of the Forest of Bowland. It is an excellent place to start your exploration of the Yorkshire Dales and a wonderful base for fell walking, cycling, mountain biking and sight-seeing. The town stands beside the largest outcrop of limestone in Britain in a region of scars, cliffs, caves and potholes. At the rear of the town a footpath leads to the summit of Castleberg crag offering a vantage point of the town in its dale and fell. Settle is liveliest on Tuesdays, when the weekly market takes place. The market place is surrounded by local businesses and shops to peruse. The centre is dominated by the Shambles, a historic 3-storey building with shops on two levels and houses above, and the Town Hall. You must also take a trip on the famous Settle-Carlisle Railway.
