Hotels, Guest accommodation, Self Catering & Camping in Redruth
Redruth is an important market and industrial town in Cornwall. From its earliest days as a small market town, it became the centre of Cornwall’s former tin mining industry during the 19th century. As you walk around Redruth there are many clues to its past with grand commercial buildings like the Old Mining Exchange where bidding for copper and tin took place, the Victorian Theatre and the Coffee Tavern. Today, these buildings are home to many antique, curio and vintage clothing shops. During the summer months, Redruth holds several events and fun days and a weekly market. The ‘Town Trail’ features places of historical and other interest, including the old courthouse. Fore Street, the main shopping area, is dominated by the old clock tower and the new Tin Miner Statue, and features the famous Redruth dogs, or 'Tinner's Hounds', made from Miner's boots.
