Welcome to Lowertown Farm bed and breakfast which is in Dartmoor National Park in the peaceful hamlet of Widecombe-in-the-Moor, just a few miles from Ashburton in Devon. This is working farm surrounded by 93 acres of countryside and with superb views. Hosts Hannah and Luke offer comfortable warm accommodation, and will always do the utmost to ensure you have a fantastic stay, including sharing their wealth of local knowledge for those wishing to explore the area.
There are 3 bedrooms available at Lowertown Farm; Haytor, our family room; Rippon Tor, our double room; and Blackator, our twin room. There is a large shared bathroom stocked with complimentary toiletries, and a tea and coffee station housed on the landing. Our breakfasts are the ideal way to start your day. We use fresh local produce where possible, and our own chickens and ducks provide fresh eggs and we source bacon and sausages from our own pigs. We can provide packed lunches if required. Relax in the guest sitting room in the evenings with our granite fireplace with log burner and browse our selection of books and maps.
Dartmoor is a stunning 368 square miles of natural beauty and ideal for those interested in walking, horse riding, cycling, canoeing, kayaking, pony trekking, bird watching and fishing. Ashburton is a former stannary, or tin mining, town with a bustling marketplace with many pubs, tearooms, cafes, restaurants and food shops. Ashburton is also home to the Ashburton Cookery School which is one of the UK's top cookery schools.
