Hotels, B&B's and Self Catering in Lynton

Lynton is a small town on the north coast of Devon within Exmoor National Park. The area is known as ‘Little Switzerland’ due to its breathtaking scenery, with its backdrop of high sea cliffs. The town has a range of cafes, pubs, tearooms, shops and accommodation. Visit the Lyn and Exmoor Museum in St Vincent’s Cottage, the Town Hall or Valley of Rocks Hotel. Lynton is closely located next to the harbour village of Lynmouth, and these are connected by the Lynton and Lynmouth Railway. The Valley of Rocks lies half a mile from the town and is a popular attraction with interesting geological features and a herd of feral goats. Running through the town is the Tarka Trail, South West Coast Path, Two Moors Way, Samaritans Way and the Coleridge Way. Exmoor is a wonderful open space with moorland and woodland, with some of the best walking and cycling in the country, red deer and wild Exmoor ponies. The novel Lorna Doone by RD Blackmore was famously based in this area.
