Lydney is a small town on the west bank of the River Severn, close to the Forest of Dean. Lydney has a harbour, created when the Lydney Canal was built. The town has excellent transport links with a very good range of shops, a leisure centre and sports facilities. There are also over 30 pubs, cafes and restaurants, serving a wide variety of cuisine. Lydney Park is a 17th-century country estate known for its gardens and Roman temple complex. With fabulous scenery and places to explore, the Forest of Dean is a great place to go for a walk and is dog-friendly. Marvel at the wildlife, follow the sculpture trail, or even spot a movie location or two. You can also enjoy walking, cycling, kayaking or take an exhilarating zip wire through the trees.
