Steeped in history the cottage was once owned by Ann Tyson, with whom William Wordsworth lodged whilst attending the Hawkshead Grammar School, 1779 - 1787.
We offer a wide range of B&B accommodation, double / twin bedded rooms with en-suite facilities, family rooms, plus cosy en-suite room for the solo traveler. Each of our delightful rooms is fully equipped with everything you will need for a wonderfully relaxing stay. For ease of access we are able to offer ground level bedrooms. After a restful sleep you can enjoy a delicious freshly prepared breakfast to set you up for the day ahead.
With so much to see and do in the area you will be spoilt for choice. Evening entertainment can be found at the Inns / Hotels / Pubs in Hawkshead. All have oak beams and open fires and are located within Hawkshead village. For the more active there are numerous walks and places of interest in the surrounding area not to mention the pretty towns and villages to explore. We also have a fishing permit which entitles bed and breakfast residents free shore/bank fishing issued by Esthwaite Water, with deep basins and shallow bays, it is a glacial lake set in the Silurian hills of the Lake District, perfect for pike, roach and trout. There really is something for everyone here!
